The Importance of Diagnosis
A well-executed diagnosis enables the treatment of both children and adults, providing more effective results. For a more precise diagnosis, a psychological evaluation is carried out. This uses psychological tests in conjunction with observation and the patient's history. Once the evaluation is complete, a psychological report is prepared, allowing for a treatment plan. The indicated treatment may suggest psychotherapy sessions and other interventions.
Behavioral Psychotherapy
A behavioral therapist analyzes the functions or interactions between behaviors, the environmental aspects involved, including genetic, neurological, and physiological aspects (among others). Functional analysis guides interventions, reassessing the patient's development at each session. The patient acquires a new set of skills that will be applied in their relationships, personal interactions, and activities outside of the session. The number of sessions varies according to the patient's needs.
